Stylish living in Cirencester
Cirencester dates back to the Roman times when it was known as Corinium. It is today often referred to as the "Capital of the Cotswolds". The town owes a great deal of its stunning architecture to the wealthy wool traders whose buildings span the Middle Ages to the 18th Century. Agriculture still plays an important role in the local economy witnessed by the recent opening of a brand new livestock market.
Today shoppers will enjoy the convenience of mainstream high street stores combined with numerous independent specialist retailers. Whether you are looking for local farm produce, boutiques, antiques or delicious bakers, the town has something for everyone. There are also a number of delightful bistros, cafes, wine bars and pubs to suit all tastes.
Cirencester has excellent primary and secondary state schools, a sixth form College campus and the Royal Agricultural College is located here. There are also good independent schools within easy reach for example at Rendcomb, Westonbirt, Hatherop and at Cheltenham. A brand new Leisure Centre including Swimming Pool has recently been completed. Other sports are fully catered for including golf, tennis, riding, football, rugby and cricket.
